A key to improving the health and quality of life of the elderly is understanding and treating depression and behavioral disorders that become highly prevalent with age. Sunnyside recognizes this need in the elderly and has contracted with a Psychiatrist to provide services to our residents and families as needed. A Psychiatrist is a fully licensed medical doctor that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental illness. Therefore, as both a mental health professional and physician, our Psychiatrist is best qualified to distinguish between physical and psychological causes of both mental and physical distress.
